Prodesse Receives Biosearch Technologies, Inc. License
WAUKESHA, WI (February 27, 2006) – Prodesse, Inc. announced today that it has signed a licensing agreement with Biosearch Technologies, Inc. of Novato, California. The company has been granted a world-wide, limited right and license to use Biosearch’s proprietary quenchers and fluorophores in DNA probes for commercial applications.
The technology gives Prodesse access to high quality dyes which will help allow the company to further expand development of its unique reagents that enable labs to develop multiplex real time detection assays.
Commenting on the agreement Dr. Ronald M. Cook, President and Chief Executive Officer of Biosearch said, "We are delighted Prodesse has been successful using our technology in developing reagents useful for labs and we look forward to expanding our relationship even further."
Prodesse’s Chief Science Officer, Dr. Steven Visuri remarked, "We have spent much time and effort finding a dye strategy that would accommodate our real time products to work commonly on the Bio-Rad iCycler®, ABI 7500, Corbett Research Rotor-Gene™ 3000 and Cepheid SmartCycler® II. Since Biosearch has such a broad menu we have been able to source these products exclusively from them."
