Columbia University Medical Center, NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Putting Prodesse Reagents into use for Upcoming Flu Season
WAUKESHA, WI (August 9, 2006) – Prodesse, Inc. announced today that Columbia University Medical Center, NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente (Northern California Region) have completed development of assays they produced that incorporate Prodesse’s reagents. These reagents are being used to develop real time PCR assays which, from a single sample, can detect and differentiate three of the most important analytes (or respiratory viruses) – Influenza A virus, Influenza B virus and RSV.
Prodesse CEO Tom Shannon commented, “These cutting edge organizations have joined many others worldwide that use our respiratory focused products. By the end of the year we will be targeting 10 respiratory organisms in real time. Early next year we will begin FDA Clearance submission of these products as well as moving into non respiratory detections.”
